With me located in Sydney and my girlfriend located in Melbourne we had to make the most of any opportunities when we were together to create the dream dress. We first went bridal shopping back in November 2014 in Sydney, she needed to try on a few styles to see which direction she wanted to go with the dress, and to have that 'ahhhh' moment every bride (and bridesmaid) just has to have when trying on wedding dresses for the first time. From there we had a few champagnes ( of course ) and discussed design direction.
Angie didn't want a 'traditional' wedding dress, so no white/ivory she wanted a satin 'latte' tone. Also, wanting something fitted to show off her gorgeous figure (my words not hers) I created a dress with a plunging neckline, with beaded lace detailing in the back with a small train.
It was quite a mission to track down the perfect colour for the dress and then match with a beaded lace. I went to almost every fabric store in Sydney and Angie looked in Melbourne. Eventually, I found a satin cotton at 'The Fabric Store' in Surrey Hills and matched it with beaded lace from 'Tessuti' also in Surrey Hills.
