It all started early on Tuesday morning with a mad dash from the airport to the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins to meet my hairdresser and friend Nikki from Rubi Hair Malvern to get hair and makeup done before getting picked up at 11:30 with the other state finalists. We were taken to Flemington for a photo shoot with the The Herald Sun in the new 'The Park' precinct. Here we were lucky to have a first look at the amazing new area and the Myer Fashions on the Field enclosure. What an amazing new addition to The Melbourne Cup Carnival. It includes the 'Pony Bar' the Yellowglen marquee, a Donut Time, Ferris Wheel, cocktail stands and much much more. The photo shoot was great fun and we were lucky to be featured in the Herald Sun on Wednesday.
Wednesday morning, feeling a little worse for wear I had an early start to meet my hairdresser at 6:30am for the day ahead at the Myer Fashions on the Field launch in The Park at Flemington. What an amazing day!!! . We started off with more photos, shooting in different locations around The Park spending time with the Myer FOTF ambassador Steph Claire Smith and the Flemington ambassador Gigi Connolly.
At the Myer fashions on the field launch we all got to do what I love, the fashions on the field strut on stage and interviews for the cameras and audience. This was so much fun, I love getting up on the FOTF stage and it was such a different experience doing it for media only while still being judged by a few of the judges that were in attendance. We were able to do a few extra practice walks and spins to ensure the media got the right shots of all of us. Once the stage launch was complete we were handed over the the media for interviews with channel 7, 9 and 10 and also Flemington media and some newspapers. This was honestly one of the days in this trip I was looking forward to the most. I really enjoy being interviewed and being able to express my inspiration and story behind my outfit.
Very excited also to be featured on Myer's blog which was filmed at the launch, link below:
Next, Derby Day! I cannot wait to see all of you who will be attending and participating in Myer FOTF. I also look forward to seeing your reactions to the amazing new 'The Park'.
